ENTBED            Accessibilty

The ability to access and gain full functionality of all amenities by building occupants regardless of physical impairments, mobility issues, age, or temporary injury is a basic civil right.

Commercial structures must provide features providing building accessibility for the public and employees as legislated by state and federal laws.  These features are required in both new and existing structures, and the absence of
an equivalent experience in the built environment for the disabled community is a highly litigated and costly issue.

Compassion and common sense compel our designs towards the highest level of functionality and building usability. The dehumanization that is wrought upon a disabled individual while being denied access to a facility trumps any aesthetic touches that may be lost or the slight increase in costs incurred by making the building or facility accessible.

Accessibility is not only limited to commercial structures.  Almost everyone will be limited in their mobility or dexterity for a certain period of time throughout their life.  Certainly, everyone will have a family member or house guest with limited mobility into their home at some point.

It is our directive that every building we design function for the broadest spectrum of the population in order to retain the dignity of individuals and loved ones in our society that may not have the physical abilities necessary to navigate structures built without proper foresight.

We can provide a California Accessibility Specialist (CASp) report outlining the constraints an existing building or facility has in providing full access to the population. These reports outline the necessary upgrades required to meet current federal and state accessibility regulations which can save the building owner from future civil lawsuits and can save a prospective building occupant from losses in dignity and a sense of independence.
